The mela will be a perfect mix of health checkups and health information through competitions and entertainment.

Hourly chest compression cardio pulmonary resuscitation classes will also be held in the mela. Death is reversible provided chest compressions at the rate of 100 per minute are given over 10 minutes and within 10 minutes of cardiac arrest (of clinical death). Chest compressions should be started at the earliest but definitely before 10 minutes. The mantra is to chest compress as hard and as fast as you can. Giving the chest compression at 100 per minute can save 70% of 25 lakh deaths which occur because of cardiac arrest every year in India before reaching the hospital.

Most sudden cardiac deaths occur in patients with underlying heart blockages or other heart diseases. All heart patients should be evaluated for their chances of sudden death and risk factors modified accordingly. A sudden cardiac death prevention programme is being organised at the Mela where certificates will also be issued to the public at large after they learn the cardiac revival technique.

Over 30 colleges including medical, pharmaceutical, homeopathy and business schools will be participating in Medico Masti, an inter college festival, in the Mela. In Medico Masti events like fashion show, choreography, western dance, Indian dance, classical dance, T-shirt painting, pot painting, mehendi, etc will be organised. Over 2000 youth students from various colleges will be participating in non-stop competitions where prizes will be given on the spot.

The right way to motivate and change the lifestyle of the youth is to pass on health sutra messages to the youth.
