Breaking News: Liver Fat More Bad than Tummy Fat

New Delhi: Wednesday, 28 October 2009: A new study has shown that fat in the liver is more dangerous than in the abdomen, said   Dr K K Aggarwal President, Heart Care Foundation of India.

According to Washington University scientists, fatty liver makes more triglycerides which are released from the liver into the blood increasing the chances of heart attacks. They are more likely to be resistant to the action of their own insulin, meaning that their body does not regulate blood sugar properly which can lead to type 2 diabetes.

Boston doctors are advocating that diabetics should undergo radical lifestyle changes incorporating rigorous diet and exercise regimes. This can delay the addition of insulin to existing oral treatment.
