What's Behind My Low Blood Pressure?

Most people worry about high blood pressure and how to bring it under control but low
blood pressure also can be a medical problem, perhaps leading dizziness, fainting or
fatigue.
Heart Care Foundation of India lists common causes of low blood pressure (medically called
hypotension):
1. A side effect of drugs, such as certain antidepressants, diuretics, painkillers or heart
medicines.
2. Alcohol use.
3. Heart failure or heart attack.
4. Dehydration.
5. A severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis).
6. Advanced diabetes.
7. Going into shock and
8. Irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia).
